Meet the Casanova Cowboys
|
Formed in 2011, The
Casanova Cowboys are a traditional country band performing primarily the
great tunes from the 1940's, '50's, and '60's. Most of the band's
members have performed and played together with other bands in the
Owensboro, Kentucky area such as Goldie's Opryhouse Backstage Band and
the house band of the Starfinder Opry. Some of the band members
have toured with national recording artists. When attending a
concert of Alyssa Roby & The Casanova Cowboys, you can expect to
hear an eclectic program of classic country, western, and western swing
music with an occasional bluegrass and rockabilly selection added to the
mix. |

Alyssa Roby
|
With
twenty years of performance experience on the stage of the Best Little
Opryhouse in Kentucky and the Starfinder Opry, 23-year old Alyssa Roby brings
her extraordinary vocal talent to the neo-traditional country &
western style of the Casanova Cowboys as the lead singer. Alyssa
is equally at ease performing a country classic tune of Patsy
Cline, an Emmy Lou Harris bluegrass ballad, or a raw
rockabilly Elvis number in her own distinctive style. |

Ken "Corky" Owens
|
After
fourteen years with country music legend Gene Watson, Texas-born Corky
left the road when he met and married his wife Stacy and moved to her
hometown area near Henderson, Kentucky. Corky joined the band in
2011, and he brings years of experience and skill playing the pedal
steel guitar. |

Donnie Wright
|
Originally
from California where he learned to play guitar at age 12 and started
playing for high school dances, lead guitarist Donnie Wright played with
a western swing band in Arkansas before moving to Owensboro, Kentucky
which he has called home for the last 40 years and where he met
and married his wife, Kathy.
He has played with Kentucky Rain and was an original member of the local
group Rebel Creek Band, before
joining the Backstage Band of Goldie's Best Little Opryhouse in Kentucky
in 1981 remaining with that group until the show closed in
2008. In 2009, Donnie became a member of the Starfinder Opry band
which recently evolved into the Casanova Cowboys. |

Eddie Rector
|
Like
most of the Casanova Cowboys, our drummer Eddie Rector started playing
music at a very young age; in fact, Eddie was playing professionally by
the time he was 14 and started doing studio session work in Nashville by
the time he was 16. Being born in Muhlenberg County near the
birthplaces of such music legends as Merle Travis and the Everly
Brothers may have contributed to Eddie's love of music. He has
toured with Eddie Rabbitt and shared the stage with recording artists
like Barbara Fairchild, Billy Dean, Tommy Collins, Johnny Carver and
others. He was a member of the Back Stage Band at Goldie's
Opryhouse on two different occasions and more recently was a member of
the Starfinder Opry band. |
